The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Victoria with their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, on Saturday for a week-long tour of British Columbia and Yukon.
The Duke highlights that their latest trip to Canada will focus on the environment, support for young families and mental health initiatives, causes they have championed.
“We feel very fortunate to have time to get to really know parts of this country that we did not get to visit in 2011 but of which I have very happy memories as a shy teenager,” he said. After pausing and grinning he added “A few of you remember it too well, I think.”
William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, visited Canada as a Royal couple three months after their marriage in 2011. Now they have young children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who are making their first visit to Canada.
The future king and queen will see the city’s most prominent landmarks, which have a special significance going back to Queen Victoria.
