King Chu, also a celebrated Nigerian philanthropist spoke at the one of events layed down to mark centenary hero of Africa in New York which attracted the attendance of monarchs and select leaders from across Africa.

The King whose domain is Eleme kingdom in Rivers State in Nigeria, said there was need for Africans to live in peace and for the leadership of the continent to embrace unity of purpose to engender the economic development of the continent.

“There is need to reunite the divided house of Africa. That’s exactly what this event seeks to achieve just as we celebrate the legacies of the great Madiba who made the quest for peace, unity and progress of Africa his life’s work. Africa must rekindle these values to form a common front to surmount its challenges,” said the Nigerian monarch.

King Chu joined other African traditional leaders to pray for the peace and unity of the continent around the tomb of Madiba at United Nations headquarter as part of activities lined up to mark the centenary anniversary of Madiba at the Spirit of Peace Conference
