Excel lauds ex beauty queen Precious Chikwendu on her birthday.
Precious Chikwendu is a Nigerian model, Nollywood actress, and multiple-beauty pageant titleholder.
She was born on May 25 1989 as the second child in a family of nine. She hails from Etti-Nanka in Anambra State. She is a graduate of the University of Calabar, Cross River State, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environmental Science.
Precious Chikwendu discovered her path early and ventured into modelling. She participated in the M Idols Fashion Show which was held in Abuja. This would later set her on the journey to the modelling world.
Her passion for fashion and modelling coupled with hard work paved way for her as she garnered both local and international recognition in the industry. She took part in several notable fashion and runway shows. These include; Galaxy Television Fashion Week, Catwalk for Change, Nigeria Television Fashion Show, amongst others.
She was voted to represent Nigeria at the Miss United Nations Pageants which was held in Jamaica in June 2014. She aced the competition and emerged the winner and the first African ever to hold the title of Miss United Nations.
As a beauty queen, she has starred in numerous TV commercials for brands such as Passions Energy Drink, Medik55 to mention but a few. She has also acted in the capacity of the face of notable brands and events like the Face of Safari and the Face of Genisms.
She started her acting career in 2007 and has been seen in a series of Nollywood movies and operas. Precious Chukwendi was married to Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Culture and Tourism. They have four sons together; a boy and a set of triplets.
Precious is the founder and owner of Snow White Foundation, a non-profit organization.
