Royal Divas Foundation Celebrate 3rd Anniversary in Grand Style
On 5 December 2021, Royal Divas Foundation marked her 3rd anniversary amidst glam and pageantry. The foundation that started as a gathering of a few friends to support each other gradually grew into a social group in February 2018.
In October 2018, the foundation was officially registered, and with the support of well-meaning individuals, it has taken up the responsibility of impacting lives and giving back to society.
The group took the opportunity of its third anniversary to celebrate life, friendship, charity and the induction of new members.
The colourful event will be remembered for a long time to come for its fun, comedy, dance performance, refreshment, and attendance. The Royal Divas took no prisoners as they turned up in grand style and showed the world that they are royal divas – worthy of emulation.
As Rick Goings rightly said, “Some things just cannot wait. Men must stand up now for women’s equality.” The event was not short of the presence of honourable men who were present to show their support for the Royal Divas through their donations and sponsorships.
During the fun-filled event, the amicable president of the foundation, Mrs. Chinyere Okpalagu, gave a speech – where she appreciated all the guests present on behalf of the group. She reserved special praise for the group’s patrons – Chief Kingsley Okey Nwachukwu and Chief Ernest Uzuagu.
She also recognized the group’s patroness, Mrs. Akabueze Annabelle Ugochukwu, and Vice President Mrs. Adaeze Nwaka, not forgetting to appreciate other executives, supporters, and well-wishers.
Mrs. Okpalagu also used the occasion to highlight the numerous achievements of the group since its inception.
Mrs. Blessing Egwuom delivered a keynote address on “The Future Focused Woman.” She adorned the women present to become role models in society and uphold value and accountability.
According to her, women should be able to review the past, have time for self-discovery, and know their purpose in life to maximize the future.
She urged women to be focused and build on their future regardless of the challenges, grow their intelligence, be problem solvers. In addition, she said women should know and build up their capacity, have a plan, position themselves for opportunities, and build up resources.
To grace the event, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Excel Media International, Mr Boniface Ihiasota flew in from the United States of America. Speaking after the event, he expressed delight at the level of progress the Divas have amounted within a short period of time. He offered prayers and support to the group and encouraged them to keep up the good works.
Also present was Honourable Mrs. Ashara Maureen Chika, the Executive Vice Chairman, Amuwo Odofin LGA, graced the event, and delivered an address where she praised the Royal Divas for the great initiative.
The highlight of the event was the induction of new members and presenting Okiki Noah – a young writer whose publishing dreams were made possible by the group. The Vice President, Mrs. Adaeze Nwaka, also highlighted the other achievements of the group and urged its patrons and sponsors to continue to support them by any means possible.
It was a fun-filled event with loads of music and dance. Outstanding members were presented with various awards and gifts to recognize their contributions to the group.
